ASP Overview –
The Accredited Service Providers (ASP) Scheme is a legislative framework that was brought in by the NSW Government in 1995 to support contestability of electricity distribution network connection services. The scheme aims to make qualified electricity distribution businesses identifiable and separate them from those who are not accredited.
Accredited companies (ASPs) hold different levels of the service that they can provide: Level 1 (ASP1), Level 2 (ASP2) or Level 3 (ASP3).
Note – The accreditation of an individual is independent of a company’s ASP level.
